Emergencies – our Response
Disasters have a severe effect on people and property. Lives are lost, homes and livelihoods are destroyed. Seth Sarana is well placed to response to major disasters especially in Western Province.
Whether it is a natural or manmade we are there to help them to start in putting all of the pieces back together.
The metrological analysis over recent past disaster patterns reveals the increased in,
– Flood
– Landslides
– Droughts
– Cyclones
Further it has also revealed the increased pattern flooding in Western Province (The Archdiocese of Colombo) during South Western Monsoons.
Our disaster response covers immediate needs to long term development. Gives Priority to save lives, and often the first response is to distribute a range of items such as temporary shelter, kits, food, and hygiene products.
Our disaster response team, coordinates with Parish Development Committees. We also have a solid working relationship with Disaster Management Authority. We collaborate to realize justice to the affected communities.
We follow Caritas International Standards, in implementing, monitoring and managing our finance.
